- "used to" and "would" (for the past),
- "to get used to", "to be used to",
- phrasal verbs (be, break, call, carry, come, drop, fall, get, go, hand, keep, look, make, pass, put, run, set, take, turn),
- conditionals (third conditional, inversions, and mixed conditionals),
- future perfect and future continuous,
- relative pronouns and defining/non-defining relative clauses,
- causative verbs,
- use of the infinitive and -ing forms,
- the passive voice.
The lexical topics — which are fundamental to this course and appear in both vocabulary definition exercises and reading comprehension tasks — are:
- vocabulary related to filmmaking and film genres,
- filmmaking and a brief history of cinema,
- the function of the soundtrack,
- careers for actors, directors, and producers,
- the film industry in the modern world,
- theatrical scenography (stage types, a brief history of theatre architecture, and set design),
- Stanislavski and Brook,
- Nijinsky.
The course involves developing the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
For this reason, students are expected to participate actively in classroom exercises, with the aim of improving their expressive fluency and confidence in interpersonal communication.
