The course begins with an introduction to Gilles Deleuze's philosophical thought, providing the conceptual framework necessary to understand his philosophy of cinema within the broader context of his work. The course then follows the structure of Cinema 1: The Movement-Image and Cinema 2: The Time-Image, examining the major theoretical concepts (movement-image, time-image, signs, perception, affection, action, and the crystal-image) through the discussion of selected films and examples from the history of cinema.
