20110664 - Activities: Safety on the sea

The training activity "Safety at Sea," organized in collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Financial Guard), aims to delve into the issues related to various aspects of maritime safety. Specifically, it will examine the roles and functions of institutional actors operating at sea, including the Guardia di Finanza, Corpo delle Capitanerie di Porto (Italian Coast Guard), Marina Militare (Italian Navy), and European agencies, in light of the current national and supranational legislation. The training will analyze the pressing and relevant issues concerning the fight against illicit trafficking at sea and illegal immigration. Furthermore, an overview of the legislation regarding maritime rescue will also be provided.

Programme

The course aims to examine the international and supranational regulations on safety at sea. In particular, the relationship between the application of these rules and the protection of human rights will be deepened.
