The course has been designed to introduce students to the fundamental values underlying public power while illustrating procedures from a global perspective common to all democratic systems. Among its objectives is to familiarize students with legal terms and concepts in English and develop confidence in the expression of their ideas. This will be achieved through hands on experience and students will be encouraged to hold presentations and participate in debates on issues being discussed. Class participation is greatly encouraged.

●The students will be introduced to elements of the common law systems and will be exposed to cases coming from both English and US public law.
●The course will also familiarize students with legal terms and concepts in English and develop confidence in the expression of their ideas.
●All participants will hold presentations before the class and will be encouraged to be active in class participation.
● The course is held in English and fluency is a pre-requisite.

1. Procedural fairness
2. the general principles of due process with a particular focus on values,
3. the exercise of discretionary powers and the decision-making process in relation to public power
4. Agencies and regulatory powers in the EU.
