The module on “New technologies and democracy: the challenges of digital constitutionalism” presents through a comparative approach the main elements to understand the impact of new technologies on constitutional democracies, and provides an overview of the main regulatory issues of digital technologies.

The course will introduce the main topics of constitutionalism from the point of view of the challenges posed by technological development. After a historical introduction of the values of European constitutionalism(s) and their questioning by technological development, the course focuses on the European and Atlantic perspectives in the regulation of the digital dimension, ìthen addressing some specific issues, from the regulation of platforms to freedom of expression.Core Documentation
