20101141 - CRIMINAL LAW

The course is aimed at providing the students with the fundamental and basic concepts of the so-called General Part of Criminal Law, that is the branch of legal dogmatic whose object is, mainly, the study of the sources and the limits of validity of the criminal rule, the structure of the criminal fact, the forms of manifestation of offence and the system of penalties, criminal and not, consequent to the commission of a crime. This study finds its own proofing test in the analysis of some of the most important hypothesis of the so-called “natural” offences, such as crimes against life and personal safety and crimes against property.

This is an in-depth study of the topic of interpretation in criminal law. It includes the study of the text M. CATENACCI, Introduzione allo studio delle fattispecie criminose, 3rd ed., Giappichelli Turin, 2024.

SEMINARS FOR SUPPLEMENTARY CREDITS
The Criminal Law course also includes 10 hours of supplementary teaching, which are in addition to the lectures. The schedule for these will be indicated in the "supplementary seminars" file, which will be published on the e-learning page for this course. Participation in these seminars (with the accompanying exam application) entitles students to one supplementary training credit (see the aforementioned file for more information).
Regarding content, the meetings will focus on in-depth study of certain topics that are also mandatory components of the exam program and are not covered during lectures (forms of crime; alternatives to prison sentences).
