The activity aims to examine the impact of technology on the broader phenomenon of violence against women. More specifically, it seeks to assess both the extent to which emerging technologies influence existing offences by creating new means of perpetration (for example, in relation to stalking or domestic abuse) and the circumstances in which they constitute an element of the offence itself (as in the case of the use of artificial intelligence under Article 612-quater of the Italian Criminal Code, introduced in 2025).
