Basic assumptions: fundamental aspects of two-phase system (solid-liquid), liquid dynamics, characterization of the solid phase, velocity fall, Solid discharge. Sediment Transport: Beginning of motion, the Bedload and the Suspended load, valuation of the total load. Forms of bed: Classification of bed forms, continuity equation, flow phenomenon and resistance to flow in mobile bed. Local scour: Local erosions in mobile bed, obstruction, jets. River engineering: purposes of hydraulic regulation, riverbed regulation (weirs and check dams), bank protection. Oral exam assessing the student's ability to conceptually and quantitatively understand phenomena related to sediment transport, hydraulic engineering works, and bank protection. The final grade will take into account the student's critical analytical skills, the ability to model and conceptually frame a problem, as well as their knowledge background
