From fields to circuits: limits and validity of circuit representation. Circuit elements and electrical components. Bipoli. Knots, branches and links. Kirchhoff's laws. Series and parallel connections, nodes and links. Conventions for generators and users. Electric power and passivity. Tellegen theorem. Linearity, time-invariance, memory. Constitutive laws of passive two-poles: resistor, inductor, capacitor, ideal voltage and current generators, mutual inductances, ideal transformer. Analysis of networks without memory: general methods of nodes and meshes, Equivalent networks. Graph theory. systematic methods. Substitution theorem. Superposition theorem. Thevenin-Norton theorem. First and second order RLC networks. Transient and permanent response. Free and forced answer. State equations. Analysis in permanent regimes. Sinusoidal regime. Phasor method. Concept of impedance and admittance in the frequency domain. Active, reactive and complex power. Notes on the harmonic regime and the Fourier series. Symmetrical and balanced three-phase systems, star or delta, with three or four wires. Power in three-phase systems. Power factor correction. Methods of measuring power in three-phase systems.
