The course aims to address fundamental aspects about telecommunication systems, starting from 5G mobile and looking at future developments (Beyond 5G - B5G). It covers system aspects such as the cellular scheme, radio network access and modulations, radio channel modelling, radio transmission algorithms, optimum signal processing, and performance analyses. Finally, it illustrates several cross-layer application problems such as security and privacy in mobile communications, as well as techniques for hidden communications and fast algorithms for signal and transmitting source detection.
