20840096 - FLUID MACHINERY FOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

teacher profile | teaching materials

Programme

Fluid mechanics in physiological systems (e.g. blood circulation, airflows in lungs). Key areas of focus include:
- Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids’ behaviour and modelling.
- Macro and micro-channel fluid dynamics in stationary and non-stationary systems.
Proposed methods and models will be applied to the preliminary design and analysis of fluid machines and devices for biomedical applications, such as heart pumps, artificial heart valves, and stents.
A specific section will focus on the application of CFD methods (Computational Fluid Dynamic) to the detailed analysis of fluid dynamics in machines and biomedical systems.
