The main objective of this course is to give to the students information about the main tools for planning, designing and managing the transportation systems and infrastructures, taking into account the natural or human hazards. The approach is very useful for practitioners and professional engineers. Ordinary hydraulic risks as well as exceptional events as earthquakes, floods, slides, fires and hazmat transportation are presented. The Laboratory ends with a very practical work about the protection of transportation infrastructures and operations during a hazardous event.
