One of the main aims of this Course of Study is to provide students with advanced knowledge of two foreign literatures related to the two languages of their choice, paying special attention to intercultural and transcultural dynamics. The course also aims at refining their ability to interpret cultural phenomena, using the tools and methodologies of literary, cultural and historical analysis.
Spanish American Languages and Literatures II. It aims to provide students with an in-depth and advanced knowledge of Spanish literature in the period between the 16th and 21st centuries, with further development of the understanding of intercultural and transcultural dynamics as well as of the theoretical-methodological debate; it will also provide the tools and methodologies of literary, cultural and historical analysis at an advanced level.
It allows students to deepen their knowledge of Hispanic-American literatures, with special attention to intercultural dynamics and the theoretical-methodological debate; it helps students master the tools and methodologies of literary, cultural and historical analysis.
At the end of the module, students will reach a good critical ability in the interpretation of exemplary texts in the original language, as well as the necessary competence for oral rewording, translation, rewriting and adaptation in Italian of the texts themselves. They will also be able to re-elaborate and communicate disciplinary knowledge in a specialized and non-specialized intercultural context.

Programme

Since the Discovery, the Hispanic-American reality has been constituted as a multi-ethnic laboratory that has given rise to the formulation of labile and complex cultural frontiers. This module will explore its mechanisms in the context of literature from the 19th to the 21st century.

Type of delivery of the course

Frontal lessons

Attendance

Students who participate at least 75% of the lessons are considered attending. Non-attending students should contact the professor at the beginning of the course.

Type of evaluation

The check of the learning will be made through a final oral test of about 30 minutes. The interview will consist of questions related to the examination program and aimed at verifying the level of effective understanding of the contents of the course.
