Programme

The course, dedicated to contemporary theoretical approaches to translation, focuses primarily on a comparison between two antithetical positions: the functionalist one, which goes from the German Skopostheorie to cognitivist developments, and the "literal" one represented by Berman. Translations of various textual genres will also be analysed in order to verify and deepen the theoretical positions of the texts and the various translator's tools will be dealt with.
