Programme

1) Theory of Relativity: Special Relativity. Space-time. Four-vectors: relativistic velocity, momentum and energy. General relativity.
2) Quantum mechanics: Crisis of classical physics. The principles of quantum mechanics. Schrödinger equation and quantum systems. New phenomena, developments and interpretations.
3) Particles and Fields: Quantum Field Theory. The elementary constituents of matter. Theory of forces. The Standard Model. Physics beyond the Standard Model.
4) Quantum gravity.

The course consists of lectures supported by the use of a video projector.

Attendance

Attendance is not mandatory but is strongly recommended.

Type of evaluation

The exam consists of a presentation with slides on a topic of the program chosen within a list prepared by the teacher and with the teacher previously agreed.
