Students will acquire thorough knowledge regarding the following aspects inherent the discipline:
a) the history and evolution of Special Pedagogy (epistemological dimension). [NB We prefer to use here Special Pedagogy and not Special Education because we referring to The Discipline and not to the area or the concept]
b) the Research from the point of view of Special Pedagogy
c) the debate about the current transformation from the integration school system to the inclusion one;
d) the development of school policies regarding people with disabilities and with BES
e) the school and social inclusion as a litmus test of the cultures, policies and practices in place in our society;
f) the still open social question concerning disabled persons and their collocation into society;
g) the social representations of diversity and disability mediated by arts (literature and cinema in particular).
