The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills that allow the student to know how to orientate himself in the panorama of issues concerning hygiene and social medicine, with particular regard to health, epidemiological and social impact aspects.
At the end of the course the student:
- has become familiar with the basic concepts of hygiene and social medicine.
- is able to critically orient itself between the different models of health systems, the fundamental means to prevent the main infectious and multifactorial diseases, the timing of prevention, elements of occupational safety, as well as the principles of health education and health promotion of single and community.

Type of delivery of the course
In order to achieve the expected learning outcomes, lectures will mainly be carried out. Exercises and seminars will be carried out as a support method and to strengthen basic knowledge (eg frontal lessons, exercises and seminars). Attendance is not compulsory but strongly recommended.Type of evaluation
The verification of the learning takes place through an oral test varying in time from 20 to 30 minutes and consists of three questions, one of which is chosen by the student.
