Objectives of the course are a) to provide knowledge and skills that allow the student to use the computer as a tool for the automation of the most common and elementary activities related to information processing and b) to acquire the introductory knowledge of computer systems information, their use and languages for querying databases.
At the end of the course the student:
- has become familiar in using the computer as a tool for the automation of the most common and elementary activities related to information processing
- is able to critically orient itself in the use of simple information processing systems, and carry out some simple queries on these.

Type of delivery of the course
Teaching will include both traditional classroom lessons and exercises in the laboratory In case of the extension of the covid19 health emergency all the measures requested by the autorities will be taken in order to carry the teaching and evalutation activities. In particular the teaching and evalutation activities will be implemented using the online platform "Formonline" (moodle).Type of evaluation
There is a written test, which last one hour and consist in a set of multiple choice questions on all the topics of the course. All, students not having the ECDL have to take only the written test. Who has the ECDL has to take an oral test. Students not passing a test may repeat the test on the next session. In case of the extension of the covid19 health emergency all the measures requested by the autorities will be taken in order to carry the teaching and evaluation activities.
