The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and skills that allow the student to know how to orientate himself in the panorama of the different definitions of deviance and crime, to know how to frame the social phenomena that are the subject of the discipline and to know how to appropriately recall sociological explanations on the causes such phenomena

At the end of the course the student:
- has become familiar with the basic concepts of the sociology of deviance and knows the different interpretative theories of deviant phenomena
- is able to orient critically between the different theoretical models and the different sociological explanations related to the phenomena and deviant behavior.
