22911323-4 - Methodology of psychological research in educational settings

teacher profile | teaching materials

Programme

The course examines key theoretical models of emotions, motivation, and personality, highlighting their core features, interconnections, and distinctions. It considers how these processes shape learning, cognitive functioning, and social and relational dynamics within educational settings. Particular attention is devoted to the impact of dysfunctional emotional regulation, challenges in understanding emotions, and factors that may hinder motivation.

A dedicated part of the course focuses on educational strategies designed to strengthen emotional skills and foster motivation and well-being in learning environments. Through case study analysis, students are encouraged to critically reflect on the educator’s role in promoting emotional well-being and supporting the development of intrinsic motivation.

Main contents:

Motivation: Examination of major theoretical frameworks, with a focus on the different forms of motivation that drive human behavior in learning contexts.

Emotions: Analysis of key theoretical models and the ways in which affective systems influence cognitive processes, interpersonal relationships, and behavior.

Personality: Exploration of principal theoretical approaches to defining, describing, and understanding individual differences in behavior and motivational processes.
