The objective of the teaching is to provide knowledge and skills that allow the student a) to orient themselves in the landscape of individual and group processes (dispositions, attitudes, communication) that are the basis of social interaction and b) to use such abilities to interpret the social reality of daily life, in applied fields such as health promotion, environmental education, and social sustainability. At the end of the course, the student has: - knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts of social cognition; - knowledge and understanding of the theoretical and methodological foundations of empirical research in the psychological-social field; - knowledge and understanding of the concept of social attitude. In terms of the ability to apply knowledge and understanding, the student knows how to - distinguish naive social psychology from the knowledge of social behavior accumulated through empirical research; - apply interaction models.

Examination: The assessment of the learning outcomes will be made through multiple choice and open ended questions. The final assessment will take into account the capacity of identifying the main theories and empirical findings in social psychology and attitude-behavior studies, and the processes guiding social interaction, social behavior and attitudes. The final grade will be attributed as a function of the number of correct answers in multiple choice tests and of the accuracy of the elaboration about the main theories and authors in the open-ended questions.
