The aim of the course is to promote the acquisition of knowledge related to the psychological-social processes that regulate the interaction between people within groups and the inter-group relationships in life contexts. The course intends to acquire advanced theoretical and applicative knowledge on the functioning of social groups. In particular, topics such as: theoretical perspectives for the study of groups in social psychology will be addressed; roles, social norms, status and functions in groups; group dynamics; power and leadership in groups; inter-group social interaction in everyday life contexts; inter-group relations; the processes of social categorization and social identity; communication and processes of social influence in groups.
