Type of delivery of the course

The course in presence includes the reading and analysis of the text L'Etranger by A. Camus, starting from its Italian version (Lo straniero). The novel will be contextualized, analyzed, commented, involving the class on the basis of specific interests in education. At the same time, a number of passages chosen in French will be proposed, which will allow students to acquire/improve (depending on their previous level of knowledge of the language, which, as already mentioned, is desirable, but not compulsory) the knowledge of a basic French lexicon, the ability to orient themselves in the phonetics of the language, in its syntactic-grammatical structure, in the understanding and translation of the text.

Attendance

Frequency is strongly recommended, also in order to be able to evaluate individually the objectives to be achieved. For students, individual or group work will be proposed to deepen the examination program as well as ongoing evaluations that will allow to not only concentrate on the final exam the assessment of the results achieved by the student. The teacher will nevertheless insert study and in-depth indications for non-attendants in the Formonline platform. Students who do not attend must write to the teacher to request a password to access the course on Formonine; they must also make a written agreement with the teacher via email for the preparation of a paper to take to the exam.

Type of evaluation

The exam includes (in the same day), a short written check (translation tests of the texts studied, checks on the basic vocabulary, questions on the course content) and an oral part (check on the topics of the course in Italian; a part in French can be provided starting from the objectives that have been set individually depending on the level of initial language knowledge of each student). The students attended, who have benefited from continuous evaluation methods during the course, will be subjected to specific examinations that will take into account the work done during the academic year.
