- apply qualitative and quantitative research projects aiming at studying adult education;
- make autonomous judgements on the interpretation of the research results;
- be able to explain the results of research to specialists and non-specialists;

The course main objective is to teach students the theoretical and procedural aspects of research in adult education. Through the analysis of research in adult education, the course will focus on the historical and theoretical bases of experimental education from the origin until now; on the procedures for defining the research field, the methods and the data collecting tools, the data analysis and interpretation, the procedures for a critical revision of the hypotheses.
The seminar is an integral part of the course and will focus on technologies for teaching and learning, from the origins to the AI.
The whole course (lessons + seminar) is worth 12 ECTS.

Programme
"Experimental Education. Models and procedures for adult education" is a course for the students of "SEAFC" master's degree and is composed of a basic course (36 hours of lessons, 6 ECTS) and a seminar (36 hours of lesson, 6 ECTS).The course main objective is to teach students the theoretical and procedural aspects of research in adult education. The final exam will be a 75-question, multiple choice test, lasting 75 minutes, and broken down as follows: - 25 questions on C. Angelini, Apprendere ad apprendere e capacità di comprensione della lettura. Il caso degli studenti adulti della Facoltà di Scienze della formazione dell'Università Roma Tre, Roma, Nuova Cultura, 2010; - 10 questions on B. Vertecchi, Manuale della valutazione. Analisi degli apprendimenti e dei contesti, Milano, FrancoAngeli, 2003. Solo l’ultimo capitolo, G. Agrusti (a cura di), Laboratorio di valutazione; - 10 questions on the papers provided by the professor; - 30 questions on the seminar. During the semester, students will have the opportunity to take intermediate assessments on specific parts of the syllabus. Each assessment will be assigned a score based on the number of questions it contains (1 point for each correct answer). The score will be retained and considered valid for examination purposes only for students who participate in all the intermediate assessments and provided that the exam is completed within the summer session. Those who, despite achieving a satisfactory score in the intermediate assessments, do not complete the exam within the summer session, will have to take the full exam in subsequent sessions.
