21810325 - DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP FOR EU

The Course covers 3 thematic areas:

1 EU legal dimension;

2 Political and participatory dimension;

3 International and human rights dimension.

In the first section, participants will have the opportunity to deepen, also under a legal and procedural aspects, the access to and the protection of EU citizens' rights, with special attention to the relationship among citizens and the internal market (e.g. digital administration, e-documents, consumer protection,the digital single market).

The second part is designed to explore aspects concerning the political participation of the European citizens, with specific reference to the informed and reasonable use of instruments provided under the European law to protect and promote direct democracy (e.g. the right of petition, the European citizens' initiative), with intersections dedicated to the associative dimension and the political parties' role in Europe.

The third part addresses the transnational and international aspects of being citizens in the digital space, focusing on human rights protection online, prevention and defense against events that affect privacy, diversity of opinion, gender, race and religion.
