21810580 - INTERNATIONAL MACROECONOMICS

The course aims to provide a comprehensive background in macroeconomics, building on a mainstream macroeconomic model for the analysis of both business cycle and growth in closed and open economies. The analytical tools developed in the course allow students to understand questions at the core of the current economic and policy debates, from the unfolding of major economic crises, to cyclical fluctuations and the role of stabilization policies, to the challenges for growth.

The course addresses the main issues of modern macroeconomic theory with the aim of providing tools to understand the current economic situation and the current political-economic debate. The course adopts a basic macroeconomic model that is applied to the problems of the global economy and economic policy with particular attention to the prospects for the European economy.

Type of evaluation

Exam: A compulsory written test that students . The written exam consists of open questions, which can be articulated as exercises or theoretical questions and cover the entire syllabus. The oral exam is optional and only available to students who got an evaluation mark higher or equal to 18/30. The questions in the oral test may be theoretical or practical. The student can maintain the grade obtained in the written test or decide to take the oral exam to improve the score obtained.
