The Course aims to provide the students with extensive knowledge and to develop study and critical skills concerning the interaction between law, science and new technologies through the learning of theoretical and general aspects, the methodology necessary to identify the critical points and the analysis of the national and international context.
The Course aims to offer:
-the necessary knowledge to enable the students to apply, where possible, the traditional institutions of law to the above mentioned fields;
-delve into legal knowledge in order to deal with juridical-technological problematic issues proficiently
-the skill to address on a practical level the issues object of study by means of the development of specific activities (practical exercises in class, moot court, presentation and discussion of case study).

The program is organized into three modules, each worth 3 ECTS credits.
The first module concerns the study of the right to personal data protection. The course will first develop the topic of the constitutional right to privacy, and will then specifically analyze the protection of personal data in the European Union legal order and in domestic law. A specific section will be devoted to the issue of data security.
The second module will analyze the topic of the legal regulation of Artificial Intelligence. The focus is of course on the framework established by the AI Act, but the national legislation and the case law of the Court of Justice and of national courts will also be analyzed.
The third module is devoted to the regulation of digital technologies, with a specific focus on models of self-regulation based on private technical standards, co-regulation, and, of course, external regulation (hetero-regulation).
