21830196 - EUROPEAN AND COMPARATIVE ADMINISTRATIVE LAW

The course aims to provide students with an advanced understanding of European and comparative administrative law, focusing on the principles, structures and legal dynamics that govern public administration within the European Union and across different national systems. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyse how administrative institutions operate, how they interact with political and judicial actors, and how administrative procedures and regulatory frameworks shape public decision‑making and policy implementation. They will also develop the capacity to compare diverse administrative models, assess the effects of Europeanisation on domestic administrative law, and interpret the implications of administrative justice and accountability mechanisms for democratic governance and the protection of rights. The course further strengthens students’ ability to read and interpret legal and interdisciplinary scholarship, apply analytical tools to complex administrative and regulatory problems, and formulate well‑reasoned arguments concerning institutional design, administrative reforms and the evolving role of public authorities in a multilevel legal order.
