The course provides essential skills to distinguish between quantitative and qualitative methodologies and to use statistics as a tool for analysis in the social sciences. Students acquire foundational knowledge of descriptive statistics—particularly univariate analysis—data organization, and the interpretation of tables and statistical graphs. The course also introduces the use of statistical software for generating results and analysing and interpreting them in a rigorous and informed manner.
