20410310 - MICROBIOLOGIA SPECIALE

The systematic medical microbiology course is intended to give knowledge of:
1) the pathogenicity mechanisms of microorganisms;
2) laboratory diagnosis of infections cused by bacteria and fungi;
3) the characteristics, at the species level, of the main pathogenic bacteria;
4) the applications of biotechnologies in biomedicine.
Additional educational aims are the development of analytical capacities in medical microbiology and setting and exercising the critical reading of scientific papers in medical microbiology.
