20410767 - Antimicrobial immunity and immunodiagnostic

The course of Antimicrobial immunity and immunodiagnostic” aims to provide students with competences concerning the different modes of host-pathogen interaction, with particular reference to the mechanisms of the anti-infective immune response, the possibility of manipulating it, and how the immune response to microbes may be used in the diagnostic.
Students who have passed the exam will know and understand (acquired knowledge) (i) basic principles of the immune system functions, (ii) principles of cellular and molecular mechanisms of the antimicrobial immunity, (iii) vaccinology principles, (iv) immunological methodologies used in the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
Students who have passed the exam will be able to (acquired skills) (i) understand and analyse basic test regarding the field (ii) critically analyse issues related to the immune response to microbes (iii) identify and develop key themes to build educational paths in the specific field.
