Programme

Study of the different categories of epigraphic sources in Latin, of the criteria of their ancient writing, of their history and of their modern edition (paper and digital). Introduction to the consultation of collections and other tools of epigraphic and bibliographic research.

ATTENDING:
- A. Buonopane, Manual of Latin epigraphy, Rome (Carocci) 2009 ss .;
- xerocopie provided by the teacher in classroom;

Texts of reference for NOT-ATTENDING students: they must agree a program with the teacher.

All the students can read study texts in English, French, German, Spanish.

Type of delivery of the course

Lesson in the classroom (by the means of xerocopie and slides of Power Point, and internet sites); visits to the Epigraphic Collections of the State and Municipal Museums of Rome to examine original epigraphic monuments. Teaching language: Italian (programs in English, French, German and Spanish can be agreed with the teacher).

Type of evaluation

Oral exam folowed by evaluation (the exam can be passed also in English, French, German, Spanish).
