Programme

The course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of the Italian legal system, tracing the historical evolution of the forms of State leading to the establishment of the Republican Constitution of 1948. The syllabus encompasses the system of legal sources, the institutional organization of public powers and the mechanisms ensuring their mutual balance, the constitutional status of the Regions and the role of the European Union, the protection of fundamental rights and liberties, as well as the fundamental principles governing the constitutional review of legislation conducted by the Constitutional Court.
Furthermore, the course includes analytical insights into recent and particularly significant rulings of the Constitutional Court, alongside an examination of the instruments for the promotion and dissemination of constitutional values within contemporary society.
