The course is designed for students with at least a basic knowledge of the language and aims to familiarize them with authors and texts from the modern and contemporary French and Francophone literary tradition. In particular, the analysis of significant works in their original language will help students develop an understanding of the political, social, and economic aspects and dynamics of France and the Francophone world from the 19th century to the present day.
Expected learning outcomes: Students will develop their basic language skills and will be able to rework disciplinary elements and themes in an intercultural context.

Programme

The course is offered to students who have at least an elementary knowledge of the language. It focuses on the familiarization with authors and texts belonging to the modern and contemporary French and Francophone literary field. In particular, the analysis of significant works in the original language will allow to develop the ability to understand aspects and dynamics relating to politics, society and the economy of France and the French-speaking world from the nineteenth century to today.
Expected learning outcomes: students will develop their basic language skills and will be able to rework disciplinary elements and themes in an intercultural context.

Type of evaluation

The course consists of face-to-face lessons in French aimed at the acquisition of fundamental knowledge for the achievement of the training objectives. A method will be provided for preparing one’s "exposé" which will be evaluated as an ongoing test.
