Programme

The course is an introduction to pragmatics; it presents a vision of language as action. First, it focuses on some fundamental notions developed in philosophy of language, within the speech act theory. Secondly, it takes into consideration the study of discursive and interactional activities, by presenting some authors and theories, from linguistics and sociology, that, since the 1960s, have investigated the use of language in interaction.
