The student will acquire advanced knowledge of the discipline through (a) in-depth seminar study of the formal characteristics and content and the ways in which certain categories of epigraphic texts can be used in history; (b) collaboration in the operations of lemmatisation, reading, transcription, interpretation and historical-critical framing of unpublished inscriptions; (c) collaboration in the computer processing of inscriptions or digitised paper casts, with a view to their use in databases or websites.
