Programme
The 'Islam & Gender' course aims to provide a critical analytical framework and background knowledge on building gender relations within Muslim societies. Hence, it focuses on investigating gender in classical Islamic sources and within Islamic law. Drawing on the complex relationship between society, law and bodies, the course will explore the everyday embodiment of Islamic masculinity and femininity. Finally, the political and media implications of the Islamic body within global Islam will be addressed.Core Documentation
