Raphael from Urbino to Rome.

The course aims to analyse Raphael's stylistic development from his early training in Urbino to the works he executed in Rome until the election of Leo X, following his activities in Città di Castello, Siena and Florence and examining the effects of his relationships with the work of the many artists with whom he came into contact: from his father Giovanni Santi to Pietro Perugino, Luca Signorelli, Bernardino Pinturicchio, Leonardo da Vinci, Fra Bartolomeo, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Sebastiano del Piombo.

Type of evaluation

The examination can be conducted in two modes, according to each student's individual choice: 1) the traditional way, according to which the lecturer questions on the texts indicated for the preparation of the exam, which have to be read and understood, and on the power points that will be deposited on the Teams channel , or 2) the new way, according to which on the basis of the study of the texts indicated for the preparation of the exam, which have to be read and understood, and on the power points available on the Teams channel, the students prepare five questions to be asked to the professor during the examination, formulated by reflecting on the reflections developed during the course and on the study made on the power points and the bibliography indicated. In the latter case, the evaluation will be based on the intelligence and relevance of the questions and of the dialogue they are able to establish in reaction to the professor's answers.
