The student will address one or more specialist topics. He will be presented with an example of an author's in-depth study or an important theme of Italian literature, according to the most up-to-date research perspectives. It will acquire the necessary hermeneutic tools for the analysis of texts and the application of the most appropriate methodologies to them (analysis of metric or narrative structures), in the context of a suitable preparation for advanced literary study.

Programme
The Triumphs of Francesco Petrarca: Memory, History and Poetry. The course is dedicated to the complete reading of Petrarca's poem, a monument to the author's literary memory and a manifesto of his conception of history. The first part will be dedicated to Petrarca's life and the birth of philological humanism. The second part will be dedicated to the knowledge of the work, to the exposition of the philological problems that characterize it, to its reception and to the complete reading of the work, analyzed both in its poetic aspect and in its erudite nature, as a manifesto of the author's culture, and in its philosophical, theological and ethical aspects.The course includes frontal teaching dedicated to reading and commenting on the poem, with critical insights. For open-ended questions the scoring range goes from 0 to 6 points. The exam is constructed in such a way as to be able to verify the level of effective understanding of the concepts, the ability to re-elaborate critical literature, the skills acquired in the critical reading of the proposed texts, the level and quality of knowledge of the topics and the ability to critically analyze texts and bibliography.Canali
