Mutuazione: 20730009 Letteratura contemporanea e sistemi culturali in Italianistica LM-14 (docente da definire)

Programme

The course focuses on the analysis of twentieth-century Italian literature, with particular attention to the relationship between authorial writing and publishing and cultural systems.
The aim of the course is to deepen knowledge of the fundamental stages that marked the twentieth-century cultural system. The evolution of the figure of the publisher will be analysed, as well as the geography of Italian publishing development, the relationships created between authors and publishers, which are decisive in the writing of literary works, and the different roles played by authors within publishing houses. In this regard, authors and works considered particularly emblematic will be discussed, such as: Papini, Prezzolini, Vittorini, Pavese, Ginzburg, Calvino and Bassani.
The crucial role that magazines and periodicals have played in the definition of the literary canon, in the orientation of criticism and in the construction of the figure of the modern intellectual will also be investigated.
