The course aims to provide students with the critical tools to analyze Rome between the 19th and 20th centuries through monuments, exhibitions, and transnational exchanges. Students will develop the ability to interpret the city as a dynamic cultural space, understanding the relationships between art, politics, and society. They will be able to analyze visual and textual sources, contextualize exhibition events, and assess the international impact of artistic practices on the construction of modern urban identity.
