The course aims to:
a) introduce students to the various fields of anthropology in understanding sociocultural diversity within globalization processes.
b) Trace critical trajectories in contemporary debates on key concepts in anthropological thought—such as identity, culture, and ethnicity—by relating them to the new dynamics of transnationalism, creolization, and cultural exchange.
c) highlight the various approaches to ethnographic practice, ranging from participant observation and fieldwork to multi-site and multi-scalar perspectives, analyzing and adopting different stances (gender ethnography in local and global contexts).
