Students will acquire advanced knowledge of the discipline through (a) in-depth seminar-based study of the formal and content-related characteristics of specific categories of epigraphic texts, as well as their historical uses; (b) the lemmatization, reading, transcription, interpretation, and historical-critical analysis of published and unpublished inscriptions. They will also strengthen their knowledge of the fundamental techniques and conventions for cataloging and editing epigraphic texts.
