The course aims to provide students with the theoretical and analytical tools required for the sociological study of cultural forms, understood as symbolic frameworks, categories of meaning, and shared configurations through which individuals interpret reality and orient their experience. Alongside the contemporary emphasis on the processes through which culture is produced, circulated, and transformed, the course will highlight the relative autonomy of cultural forms and their capacity to structure practices, identities, institutions, and social relations. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify and critically analyse the main forms through which a society organises the meaning of individual and collective life.
