At the end of this course, the student will have obtained:
- Knowledge of the main theoretical questions of philosophy of history and of the related ethical-political questions ;
- Knowledge of some reference texts of philosophy of history and the relative debates;
- Knowledge and understanding of the interdisciplinary issues connected to the relation between philosophy and history.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding:
The student will have obtained:
- Ability to focus on theoretical issues and develop arguments regarding the problems of philosophy of history and the related philosophical-political and ethical problems.

Programme

The relationship between the theory of right and the theory of politics and history in Kant.

We will examinate the writings of Kant on history, politics and right, among them "Metaphysical first Principles of the Doctrine of Right" (in the "Metaphisics of Moral"), "What Is Enlightenment?", "On perpetual Peace", "Idea for a Universal History from a Cosmopolitan Point of View" and others.
