The objectives of the course are: to identify and discuss the components of teaching competence in formal and non-formal learning contexts; to critically analyse the evolution of the education system and the new professional role of the teacher; to critically compare the main theories of learning; to describe the role of evaluation in a learning process and its recurrent interactions with the development of learning activities; to acquire and use the fundamental methodologies for teaching design and the construction of assessment tools; to critically examine the cognitive and relational components of an online learning environment; to elaborate critical reflections on the course topics; to critically examine the cognitive and relational components of an online learning environment; to elaborate critical reflections on the course topics.

Programme

Course title: Methodological and procedural foundations of teaching and didactic planning for skills.

The Course starts from a reflection on the historical, epistemological and methodological-procedural fundamentals of Didactic and aims to acquire knowledge and skills on the main methodological approaches for an effective didactic planning. In particular, the theme of "planning by skills" is highlighted, which represents the strategic key for a didactics able to face the challenges of diversity and lifelong learning.

Type of delivery of the course

FACE-TO-FACE AND DISTANCE LEARNING (MIXED TEACHING). The course includes a base path done face-to-face and a deepening path online which develops specific topics and fields of interest, and offers theoretical-operative activities to apply acquired knowledge: Module of the base path: 36 teaching hours in presence. Module of the deepening path: 18 hours of training on-line to be held mainly on e-learning platform (http:\\formonline.uniroma3.it)

Type of evaluation

The final exam consists of an oral discussion on paper texts and on-line units, including the presentation-discussion of the laboratory activities.

Programme

The course of General Didactics includes a basic course (6 credits) and a workshop (3 credits) to obtain a total of 9 credits.
Course title: Individualization of teaching and modular teaching in formal contexts
The organization of teaching is a crucial variable to ensure the quality of educational processes in formal and no formal contexts. It’s also an orientation key.
The course starts from a reflection on the foundations, the methods of investigation and the aims of the discipline. It intends to analyze some of the most famous models of didactic organization in the formal contexts. In particular it wants to study some models of individualization and personalization of teaching in relation with ICT. Part of the program is dedicated to early childhood and to applications to educational settings for children.
The workshop (3 credits) is a part in presence and an other part online (on platform of the Department). The activities include the filling of online questionnnaires and the analysis of results. The interpretation and comments on profiles must be reported in a short report that must be delivered on the platform formonline.uniroma3.it

The final exam consists of an oral interview aimed at verifying the level of understanding of the contents and the ability to apply them in real contexts. The final report on laboratory activities will also be discussed during the interview.
