The course explores in depth a meaningful chapter of the history of culture, which is a pivotal element of the education and the profession of architects. The course sets two primary objectives:
1. To improve the critical knowledge of the early modern architecture
2. To offer theoretical, methodological and technical tools to reading the architectural heritage.

Attendance is compulsory, for a minimum of 75% of the lessons, both for the frontal teaching activities and for the seminar activities.Type of evaluation
The final evaluation is determined by two factors. 1. Final oral examination (50%) 2. Discussion of the individual exercise ESEMPI DI DOMANDE E/O ESERCIZI FREQUENTI Le domande riguarderanno la cronologia degli edifici trattati a lezione, la storia dei cantieri, le figure coinvolte nel progetto (architetti, committenti, maestranze). Durante l’esame, potrà essere chiesta la realizzazione di disegni di piante e prospetti dei palazzi trattati a lezione. The questions focus on the chronology and history of buildings, and the main figures involved in the project (architects, clients, workers). During the final exam, the candidate could be asked to draw plans, elevations, and details of the main buildings covered in the lecture may be requested.
