20705080 - Theatrical Cultures compared

To provide tools to face the study of European and extra-European theatrical cultures in a historical-comparative perspective. To this end, some theatrical experiences will be examined as “models” for the research of the different cultural matrices and of their technical junction points.

Programme

After having traced a brief profile of the relationship between theatrical cultures of East and West, the course will examine some specific experiences, including those of the theatre “di figura” between Asia and Europe, in particularly the Sicilian puppet's theatre.

Type of delivery of the course

Frontal lessons. As indicated in the list of texts for the exam, for attending students there are differences in the topics and texts in the program. To be considered attending the student must not do more than three absences.

Attendance

There will be a different programme for non-attending students.

Type of evaluation

Oral examination with the teacher. Attending and non-attending students will have to answer at least one question posed orally on each part of the program, with reference to the recommended texts and lectures. The assessment of learning takes place through an oral test assessed by the minimum mark of 18/30, corresponding to the basic knowledge of all parts of the program and of the technical language, to the maximum mark of 30/30 with honors, which is equivalent to excellent mastery of the subjects, excellent or excellent property of language, excellent or excellent analytical ability.
