The aim of the course is to provide the students with the basic notions of textual linguistics. The course will introduce the students to the main typologies of texts (narrative, argumentative, descriptive), as well as to the main features of a written or oral text.
At the end of the course the student will be able to produce written texts of different types, according to the theoretical and practical notions acquired during the course.

Programme
The course is divided into three parts: the first part will illustrate some types of text (narrative, argumentative, descriptive) and the main characteristics of a text (both written and oral). In the second part, it will analyze how to build a clear and effective text, organizing the order of the argumentation and its practical rules (syntax, punctuation, style). The last part will be dedicated to the analysis of some types of text, in order to evaluate their clarity, style and effectiveness. At the end of the course the students will be able to elaborate texts of different types.Core Documentation
