Programme

The workshop aims to provide an overview of the audiovisual post-production phases, starting with acquisition of the footage and ending with the finalization of the audiovisual product, passing through its elaboration, with a particular focus about the role of the post-production coordinator and about the workflow management, which involves professional figures like the video editor, the colorist, the vfx artist and the sound designer.

In parallel the workshop aims to provide, through the use of the dedicated software Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve in particular, some technical knowledge about the following subjects:
- script sorting for post-production departments;
- acquisition and storage of footage;
- project settings and create proxies;
- editing video;
- color correction and color grading;
- visual effects;
- compositing;
- motion graphics;
- sound editing;
- finalization and export.

Core Documentation

In consideration of the nature of the laboratory, no reference texts are envisaged.

Type of delivery of the course

The workshop will be held in class in the see of Latina of DAMS Roma Tre, Tuesday from 2 to 5pm and Thursday from 5 to 8pm. The frontal lessons will be joined by some activities where the students will have access to workplaces to do the exercises on the software. These activities will be held in dates to be agreed.

Attendance

In consideration of the nature of the laboratory, attendance at the course is mandatory.

Type of evaluation

The students will be evaluate on the basis of their ability to repeat the exercises showed during the lessons, proving to understand the functions and tools of the software for all the subjects covered.
